For over ten years, we have been building Whaller around a single conviction: an organisation cannot work with confidence when it spends its days navigating between a dozen tools that do not communicate with one another, none of which was truly designed for it. Today, we are adding a new brick to the platform.
There was a missing piece in your collaborative workspace. Here it is.
We are launching Whaller Mail: a sovereign e-mail service natively integrated into your Whaller workspace. For the first time, your mailboxes can be hosted in France, managed by your organisation administrator from within Whaller, and accessible to your collaborators in the same environment as their spheres, documents, tasks and video conferencing.

Why bring e-mail into Whaller?
E-mail remains the central channel of professional communication. The evidence is consistent: an executive receives between 80 and 150 e-mails per day on average and spends close to a third of their time managing them. That time is critical, because it is often where decisions are made, commitments are given, and deliverables take shape.
Yet most organisations handle their e-mails in one tool, their documents in another, their teams in a third, and their tasks in a fourth. Every transition between tools is a break in attention, a loss of information, and sometimes a data leak. And in the best case, the e-mail service in use is hosted in the United States, subject to the Cloud Act, with no sovereignty guarantee whatsoever.
Whaller already made it possible to reduce e-mail overload by up to 40% by centralising internal communications within spheres. Whaller Mail goes one step further: unifying e-mail and collaboration within the same workspace, and guaranteeing mailbox sovereignty for organisations that require it.
Two modes, two levels of sovereignty
Whaller Mail is designed to adapt to the reality of each organisation, without any forced migration.
📫 Managed sovereign mailboxes
Whaller creates and hosts your mailboxes in France at OVHcloud. Your organisation administrator provisions, manages and deprovisions them directly from Whaller. Your collaborators access their inbox without any technical configuration on their part. Aliases and out-of-office replies are included.
Complete sovereignty, with no foreign dependency. This is the recommended option for sensitive organisations subject to regulatory obligations (NIS2, DORA) or seeking full control over their entire e-mail chain.
📥 Your existing addresses
Already using Microsoft 365, Gmail, or another e-mail provider? Connect it to Whaller to centralise everything within your workspace. Immediate activation, no migration, no infrastructure change.
Aliases and out-of-office replies are available depending on your provider. The level of sovereignty depends on your organisation’s e-mail infrastructure.
In both cases, you benefit from the full Whaller Mail feature set: threaded conversation view, Whaller (IA)ssistant, attachments to spheres — all within the same sovereign workspace.
A complete e-mail client, built for teamwork
Whaller Mail includes all the features expected of a modern professional e-mail client, articulated with the collaborative workflows of the platform.
📨 Unified inbox
Multiple e-mail accounts accessible in one place, without confusion. Each exchange is presented as a continuous thread, in chronological order, without repetition of previous messages. You gain clarity and response speed, and you never lose the thread of a conversation because a colleague changed the subject line.
🤖 Drafting with Whaller (IA)ssistant
From your inbox, ask Whaller (IA)ssistant to generate a reply to an incoming e-mail, or to correct spelling and syntax errors in a draft you are working on. No copy-pasting to a third-party application, no context break — writing assistance stays within your trusted workspace.
⭐️ Favourites, search and out-of-office replies
Mark important e-mails as favourites to retrieve them in one click. An integrated search engine lets you find any message or sender across all your mailboxes instantly, without leaving Whaller. Set up a per-mailbox out-of-office reply so your contacts are informed even when you are unavailable.
✍️ Personalised e-mail signature per account
Create and manage a distinct e-mail signature for each account. A consistent professional identity, whichever address you are writing from.
🗃️ Archiving an attachment to a sphere
How many important attachments end up buried in an inbox, impossible to find when the team actually needs them? With Whaller Mail, a document received by e-mail can be sent in one click to the relevant sphere box. It joins its project space, shared, commented on, and added to the team’s collective knowledge base.
📫 E-mail account management: the administrator’s view
For organisations that opt for managed mailboxes, governance is complete: the organisation administrator creates, edits and deletes e-mail accounts, assigns aliases and functional addresses, and manages passwords — all from within Whaller, in line with the organisation’s security policy. Users access their inbox with no technical action required on their part.
🇫🇷 Sovereignty: what “hosted in France” means in practice
- No dependency on services subject to the US Cloud Act or equivalent extraterritorial legislation
- No advertising or commercial exploitation of e-mail data
- GDPR compliance
- Compatibility with the Cloud at the Centre doctrine
- Encryption in transit and at rest, granular access control by the organisation administrator
For organisations connecting an existing e-mail address, the level of protection depends on the chosen e-mail infrastructure. The managed offering is the only one that guarantees full chain sovereignty.
