Whaller 7.4.0: Surveys, Events, and Classified Ads on Mobile

The 7.4.0 version of the Whaller app introduces three new features that enhance your interaction possibilities within your spheres. You can now create polls, organise events and publish classified ads directly from your mobile.
 

Polls to make better decisions together

 
Gathering your members’ opinions is now easier. The app offers three poll formats designed to meet different needs:

• Multiple-choice polls allow you to ask a question with several answer options. Ideal for choosing between meeting dates, selecting a venue for an event or making a quick collective decision.
• Satisfaction polls help you measure how your members feel using a graduated scale. Useful for evaluating an initiative, collecting feedback on a project or simply taking the pulse of your community.
• Open-ended polls give everyone the opportunity to express themselves freely in writing. Perfect for gathering suggestions, ideas or testimonials without restricting responses.

These three formats complement one another and cover most collaborative consultation and decision-making needs.

 

Organise your events in just a few steps

 
Event creation is now fully available in the mobile app. You can plan a meeting, workshop or any other appointment directly from your smartphone.

Set the date, time and location, add a description and publish. Your members receive a notification and can confirm their attendance with a single click. There is no need to switch between tools or move to the web version to organise your next activity.

This feature is particularly useful for associations, sports clubs, work teams or family groups that regularly need to coordinate their schedules.

 

Classified ads: make exchanges easier within your community

 
Classified ads are also part of this update. Whether you want to offer a service, lend equipment, sell an item or simply share an opportunity, you now have a dedicated format.

This feature addresses a very practical need across many spheres: associations sharing equipment, residential communities organising car boot sales, teams pooling resources or friends exchanging services.

Classified ads integrate naturally into your spheres’ discussion feed, without adding unnecessary complexity.

 

An app that grows with your needs

 
These three additions reflect our approach: enhancing Whaller in line with real user needs, without cluttering the interface. Polls, events and classified ads are tools our users requested to make their day-to-day organisation smoother.

Version 7.4.0 is now available on iOS and Android. The update can be installed automatically or manually via your usual app store.

The web version has not been left behind. We have also rolled out significant improvements to external file and folder sharing.
 

External sharing of entire folders

 

Available from the PRO plan onwards, you can now share entire folders via an external link, not just individual files. The principle remains the same as for files: creation of a public URL, optional password protection and a configurable expiry date.

This feature greatly simplifies the sharing of documentation or grouped resources with external partners or clients, without having to compress or send files one by one.
 

Restriction by email address

 
An important new security feature: your external shares (files or folders) can now be restricted to a specific list of email addresses. In practical terms:

• Only the owners of the specified email addresses can open the shared link
• An email is automatically sent to those addresses when the share is created
• If you have also set a password, it must be transmitted separately (Whaller never exposes passwords in plain text)

 

Enhanced traceability

 
To access a shared resource, external recipients must now provide and validate their email address. This verification improves access traceability.

For organisations using the ENTERPRISE licence, all external accesses are recorded in the activity logs of the boxes: you know exactly who accessed your resources and when.

Security reminder: external sharing can be disabled in your organisation settings. We strongly recommend always setting an expiry date and an access password for your shares.
