The EUt+ network brings together eight—and soon nine—European universities of technology, with the ambition to merge into a single institution and offer students a European degree.

How was rollout of the platform?
We’ve used Whaller since EUt+ began, and everyone involved has access. For me, it’s the first tool I open and the last one I close each day. It delivers all the up‑to‑date information I need—new messages, important documents ready to view and edit via notifications.
How have the students taken to Whaller?
Everyone in EUt+ uses Whaller as the official communication channel. There’s a learning curve—they don’t always find everything intuitive at first—but once they’re accustomed, all important documents are accessible from the Whaller homepage. Logging in via Shibboleth is seamless using individual credentials. At h_da, it works very well.
Which features do you rely on most?
Students have their own sphere, and in our phase‑1 work (WP4, tasks 3.3 and 7.4), we depend on Whaller for document sharing and centralisation. Issues go directly to Whaller support, and responses are usually within a day. We mainly use Whaller—and sometimes Jitsi or BBB—for video meetings. We communicate weekly via Whaller; it’s become our go‑to platform.
How does Whaller support your in‑person events?
Whaller keeps us informed about upcoming physical meetings—details, links, surveys and general information are shared internally so everyone stays up to date.
Which functionalities matter most to you?
It’s the video conferencing and document storage that stand out. Document management works well, provided you organise folders yourself. What we’d like to see improved is email distribution or mailing‑list support. Other than that, Whaller meets our needs exceptionally.
How does Whaller help promote EUt+ across campus?
Whaller aligns closely with the EUt+ mission. While there’s always room for improvements—and we’ve already made suggestions in Troyes—the platform enables everyday collaboration once adopted. I struggle to imagine a better alternative for internal and inter‑university communication. With upcoming enhancements, our usage will only grow stronger.
